What is this event about?
Empty Bowls is an event designed to raise awareness & funds for those in our community who are experiencing food insecurity. Soups prepared by local restaurants will be the main course, along with bread and dessert! Each ticket allows our guests to have the opportunity to select a hand-painted and/or hand-crafted bowl that serves as a reminder of those experiencing food insecurity in our community.
All proceeds benefit Camella’s Cupboard Food Pantry for Children. Camella’s Cupboard provides food to 250 New Milford families and their children weekly.
Tickets are $30 for adults, $15 for children, and 2 and under are free (no bowl). Tickets can be purchased for eat-in or carry-out.
There will be a raffle for 2-50" televisions as well as a wine pull and balloon pop game at the event.
Empty Bowls will be held on Saturday, March 9th at the New Milford United Methodist Church, 68 Danbury Road, New Milford.
There will be opportunities for community members to paint bowls for this event. We are partnering with Create Escape Studios, located at The Bleachery - 143 West Street, New Milford. Information on dates and times are available on our website - www.camellascupboard.com/emptybowls
When will tickets go on sale?
Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased until the day before the event or they sell out - which we expect to happen
Where can I buy tickets?
Tickets are only available online and may be purchased HERE
Can I purchase a ticket the day-of the event?
Tickets will not be available the day of the event; presale ends Friday, March 8th at 5:00 pm.
What if I purchased a ticket but can no longer attend the event?
We have carry-out available. Otherwise, tickets are non-refundable, but we will do our best to set aside a bowl for you. Contact [email protected] and let us know your dilemma.
What does my ticket include?
1 ticket = 1 donated artisan bowl you’ll get to keep forever, as well as a bowl of soup donated by a local restaurant, fresh bread, a dessert item, and a beverage.
Can I attend the event without purchasing anything?
Unfortunately, the venue will be open to ticketholders only.
Where do I park to attend Empty Bowls?
There is ample parking available at the church.
What type of soup is being served?
There will be a variety of soups as each participating restaurant is donating a soup unique to them. There will be something for everyone!
Do I get to pick out my own bowl?
Guests will have the ability to choose a bowl as they arrive.
Where is the check-in table?
There will be signs directing you to the front entrance. Once inside the door, the check-in table will be on your right.
Are there other food and drink options available?
The menu consists of soup, bread, dessert, and a beverage. No other food or drinks are allowed.
I want to make/paint bowls for the event! Who do I contact?

I have dietary restrictions, what should I do at the event?
We will have vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free soup options available. If you have a food allergy, please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate you.
Do I have to be at the event the entire time?
No! But you are welcome to stay as long as you like. We have games and a raffle.
What if it snows the day of the event?
Think positive thoughts! Seriously though, if there is snow, we will make a determination about a cancellation no less than 4 hours before the event. In the case of a cancellation, we will reschedule for a later date.
Are there restrooms at the event?
Yes, restrooms are available.
Is this space wheelchair accessible?
Absolutely!
Can my bowl be shipped to my house?
Sorry, bowls can only be picked up at the event. We are not able to ship bowls to you.
Will we eat out of our purchased bowls at the event?
No, bowls will be wrapped for you to take home to enjoy. We will provide disposable bowls for sanitary reasons.
Can my bowl be microwaved?
Bowls not be placed in the microwave or dishwasher. They should always be hand-washed.
Is my bowl food safe?
Bowls are food-safe.
What are other ways to support Camella’s Cupboard Food Pantry for Children?
There are many ways to support us year-round. You can volunteer or host a food drive. One-time or monthly financial support is a great way to help us accomplish our mission. You can feed one child a month for as little as $10. Visit www.camellascupboard.com/donate for more information.
